AccommodationsWe stayed at the Reef Club Resort, 12 miles south of San Miguel de Cozumel, the capital and the only real city on the island. We were close enough to enjoy the nightlife and fantastic restaurants of Cozumel including the best restaurant in Cozumel, Especias, owned by our dear friend Adrian, but far enough to avoid crowds coming to Cozumel on cruise ships.Our beach resort, The Reef Club, offers accommodations in Caribbean style villas located amongst lush gardens and on the beach with relaxed ambience as well as an adults only hotel, Sabor.
Sabor is a brand new part of the Reef Club. The rooms are larger and nicer. The first floor rooms have direct access to the pool from a small patio. These little pools off the patios are connected to the main pool by slides which are a blast. The third floor rooms (the top floor) have ocean views. Sabor became our sanctuary in the relatively busy resort. We enjoyed the swim up bar (day and night!) and loved Mosaique, Sabor's upscale restaurant. Reef Club Cozumel - (virtual tour here)
